As of December 2, 2013, The Republic of Tea has donated $474,600.73 to Prostate Cancer Foundation.
The Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF) is the world’s largest philanthropic source of support for accelerating the world’s most promising research for discovering better treatments and cures for prostate cancer. Founded in 1993, PCF has raised more than $520 million and provided funding to more than 1,600 research projects at nearly 200 institutions in 15 countries. PCF advocates for greater awareness of prostate cancer and more efficient investment of governmental research funds for transformational cancer research. Its efforts have helped produce a 20-fold increase in government funding for prostate cancer. PCF has also been a pioneer in the grant making process, simplifying paperwork for grantees, leaving more time for researchers to conduct needed scientific research.
Every year PCF assigns a Young Investigator to each of their partners and sponsors. Young Investigators are an elite group of 120 young men and women whose innovative scientific minds are breaking ground in the fight against prostate cancer. In 2013, The Republic of Tea was assigned to Ifran Asangani, PhD, who is extremely passionate about bringing about a cure for prostate cancer. With one out of every six American men diagnosed with prostate cancer, The Republic of Tea is honored to donate $1 from the sale of each tin and $0.36 from the sale of each traveler’s tin directly to PCF. Sip with us today and help us give men and their families hope for healthier, longer lives.
