A tea infuser is a device in which loose tea leaves are placed for steeping. The tea infuser performs the same function as a tea bag. The tea infuser is usually a small mesh or perforated container in the shape of a sphere.
The tea infuser is placed in a cup or pot of hot or boiling water allowing the tea to brew without tea leaves spilling into the pot or cup. When brewing tea using an infuser, we recommend filling the infuser half way so the wet leaves can expand and then increasing the surface area of the leaves exposed to the boiling water to allow for quicker brewing.
