Steeping Full-Leaf Loose Tea and Herbs

Loose Whole Leaf TeaYou will extract the most pleasure from Full-Leaf Loose Tea and Herbs tea, steeped with care. The Minister of Fire & Water suggests the following step-by-step ritual for steeping our Full-Leaf Loose Tea and Herb teas:

Heat Your Water

  • Fill your kettle with fresh, filtered water and heat to a rolling boil – unless you’re making loose leaf green tea or 100% white tea. In that case, stop short of boiling to avoid “cooking” the delicate leaves.
  • Plan on about one teaspoon of tea or herbs per six-ounce cup. Place leaves in a specialized tea steeping tool like our tea infusing basket our Traveler’s Tea Press for on-the-go steeping or directly into the teapot.

Time Your Steeping

  • Pour the heated water over the tea, cover if in a pot, and infuse to taste.
