April 1992. I moved up to Marin from Los Angeles to help design the trade show booth and marketing materials for our first trade show.

Developing new teas and creating eye-catching packaging.

Seeing the TEAm grow and learning to love our teas and love being a Minister.

It depends! Some days it’s Chocolate Chai and other days it’s Carrot Cake, which is really great with a bit of creamer. I love the Carrot Cake so much I often make a gift of it to my friends and family.

I joined back in 1998. I had young children at home and I wanted a role that was close to my community, and offered work life balance. I was on the Citizens Service TEAm for many years and not too long ago I moved into the Shipping Department. I love the new perspective I have in this role, and the years I spent in Citizen Services gaining deep product knowledge is useful to me every day!

I love the people that I work with, my fellow Ministers!

The growth we’re celebrating over the past 30 years, I have no doubt will continue! I look forward to our size and our scope growing and reaching new Citizens.

British Breakfast is a favorite tea of mine.

Twenty-three years ago, I had a friend who worked here, and she thought it would be a good idea if I applied too. I got hired and has been here ever since.

I really like the 10-hour days – 4 days a week. In addition, she appreciates all the special things the company does for its ministers. Coming to work in a clean environment means a lot as well. Not all factories are like that.

I am excited to see where the company goes. The production TEAm is getting more machines so more tea can be made and hoping more people will purchase the company’s product!

I have so many teas I love but would have to say Blackberry Sage and Good Hope Vanilla are my top two favorites.

Actually, I survived three buyouts at the bank I worked at prior to coming here. So, I was grateful to join The Republic of Tea in 2002 as a Customer Service Representative. I remember on my second day with the company I ran off the road in a winter/ice storm and survived working in Customer Service for 17 years. Now I continue working part-time in Shipping, two days a week.

There are so many reasons for working here! The Republic of Tea offers exceptional benefits and the Rubin’s are super nice people. They know how to treat their employees.

Honestly, it has been exciting to see the company grow!

It’s so hard to choose! One of my favorite teas is Mango Ceylon. I also like the simplicity and quality of British Breakfast and Double Green.

I defected because The Republic of Tea is a special company that tries to ensure their customers are satisfied with a quality and creative product. The company also promotes a healthy and balanced life.

I like being part of a Company that produces a healthy product that people enjoy. The Republic of Tea’s products are special because they are designed to be an experience that is shared.

I am looking forward to new products and designs that we will introduce to our citizens.

I lived in Edwardsville before I started working for The Republic of Tea. So, when I got a call from a temp agency to work at The Republic of Tea, I moved closer and then converted to a permanent full-time employee in January 2012.

I enjoy the flexibility in my job. I am responsible for rework and am not assigned a specific machine, so if others need assistance, I can easily jump in to assist as needed. 

My favorite tea, by far, is our Organic Vietnamese Cinnamon SuperHerb. It is the perfect combination of sweet and spice. It can be enjoyed year around.

I started with The Republic of Tea in 2014. It is a company that not only, talks the talk, but walks the walk when it comes to social responsibility and taking care of its’ employees. Ownership truly cares about the team.

Where else could you work, that will take you on a week long, all expenses paid trip around the world to see exotic places of tea origin. On top of that, you can enjoy a different tea each day of the year.

The Republic of Tea is always innovating and coming up with new ideas. As an IT professional, I get to experience a vast array of different technologies. My knowledge is constantly growing and very few days are the same.

My favorite tea product is HiCAF Cinnamon Toast.

I was working full time and wanted something better. I wanted a job with benefits and stability. I had been laid off so many times. So, I started here as a temp and knew that this was not just another factory. It was almost culture shock for me and I knew I found what I was looking for.

My favorite part about working here is the amount of respect ministers have for each other. You see it among all ministers which is really important and you feel it when you walk out into the plant. That’s not seen in very many factories.

I mainly want to see the company grow, increase their revenue, widen their customer base and become a bigger facility.

Right now I really love Red Hot Holiday!

I actually started with the company as a temporary employee back in 2016. I learned about the company from a friend, who raved about the culture, the way the company cares for its employees, and that allowed me to see a future for myself here. Since then, I’ve worked in many areas in our shipping department, and in 2018 I joined our Research and Development TEAm!

When a new blend or product launches, it’s really fulfilling to see how our citizens respond and share their love for our tea. Knowing I was part of making that tea available on shelves is always a really proud moment! When we get positive feedback on new items, it feels like a direct pat on the back from each of our citizens!

I’m really eager to see what innovations we come up with in the future. I can’t wait to see the impact and reach of our products grow!

I drink tea most often as part of my relaxation ritual in the evening, so I’m a big fan of our Chamomile blends. I think my favorite is the organic Chamomile Honey, also available as the Queen’s Evening tea. Most recently I alternate that with the Beauty Sleep – Chamomile Rose.

I was a representative of The Republic of Tea as an ambassador for several years. During that time, I was truly inspired to learn as much as I could about the world of teas and herbs; and was amazed at the way The Republic of Tea matched health benefits with great taste. I got to know the Ministers at The Republic of Tea over the years, through ambassador summits and educational trainings, and always felt very welcomed and valued. When the opportunity came up to join the TEAm of Ministers in 2018, I jumped at the chance.

Why do you love it? My favorite part of working at The Republic of Tea is the experiences gained through traveling across the country, and the world. I love seeing how tea is part of so many different cultures, rituals, and traditions. From matcha in Japan, to chai in India, sun-brewed tea in Texas, or hibiscus in California; there’s always an avenue to connect with folks and find a mutual appreciation.

What are you looking forward to? I’m always excited about the next innovations The Republic of Tea is working on. I’m looking forward to seeing more unique and delicious herbal blends, incorporating functional ingredients with healthy benefits; such as adaptogens, collagen, electrolytes, etc. One of my newest favorites is the Blueberry Lime hydration single sips which tastes amazing, is hydrating, and includes ingredients with many more health benefits.

My favorite tea is every variety of our Hibiscus tea. I’ve always been a fan of Hibiscus tea; however, I didn’t realize what I was missing until I had The Republic of Tea’s Natural Hibiscus, Blueberry Hibiscus, Strawberry Hibiscus and Coconut Hibiscus. Drinking our coconut hibiscus makes me feel like I’m on a tropical island.

I defected to The Republic of Tea in May 2021. It just felt right, and as soon as I read our Charter I knew that I was home. I’ve been a Citizen for many years and am so happy to add Minister to my title.

My favorite part of working at The Republic of Tea? There are so many, but here are a few:

1. The way we own our charter
2. The tea
3. The tea discount
4. The hand-written notes with overwraps
5. Our beautiful packaging and quick delivery 
6. Catering to our citizens. I’ve sent gifts to friends for the birth of a baby and the death of a father, and our shipping department includes a note that reflects the sentiment of the gift. It’s remarkable. 
7. The supportive and welcoming Ministers
8. The way we spell everything with TEA, like our opportuniTEAs.

Looking towards the future of The Republic of Tea, I’m excited that we’ve paved the way with our innovation. Thirty years later and companies are still trying to replicate our Ginger Peach. Our current innovation will be relevant for another thirty years and we have so many more Citizens to reach. I’m looking forward to being on the TEAm that gets to introduce our teas and herbs to these new Citizens.

I would have to say Peppermint Bark is one of my favorite teas.

When I interviewed it seemed like a good job and good place to work.

Since I have joined the company, I have already experienced and seen growth with all the new products that have been produced and rolled out, new staff, advancements in Shipping with the robots, etc. It is all very exciting!
