The Mandalorian

Season 2 of Star Wars: The Mandalorian has already lived up to expectations, but chapter 11 introduces even more worlds, characters and intrigue as well as some familiar – if slightly different – enemies. We are having such a fantastic time exploring the Mandalorian’s galaxy with a trusty cup of tea and cannot wait to see what happens next.

If you have not yet caught up, here are a few things to watch for as this episode unfolds:

Braving the High Seas on Trask

Juxtaposed against the desert planets of Nevarro and Tatooine – upon which Mando and the Child have spent most of their time when not in space – Trask is an absolute water world. Be sure to watch closely as they move around the port where the Razor Crest lands and the ocean upon which they sail. The detail brought to these locations are so immersive, it truly feels like another planet.

It is easy to forget in a series filled with galactic travel that each planet is its own world. This episode’s setting, as well as the various story arcs that are woven together on Trask, create a sense of grounding and habitability we have not seen since season one when our travelers were hiding out on Sorgan.

A Deeper Dive into Mandalorian Lore

Since the early stages of his travels, Mando’s search for meaning – and other Mandalorians – has been crucial to his mission to safely transport the Child to its kind.

From teaming up with Cara Dune, to the assistance he received from Kuill and the reprogrammed IG-11, to their epic escape from Moff Gideon thanks to the Armorer from the Covert on Nevarro, finding more Mandalorians has been one of the metrics of success to Mando’s journey.

“The Heiress” reveals a bit more about why his adherence to his Creed plays such pivotal role in his character, and offers a deeper look at how this way of life is viewed by others who are neither bounty hunters, nor civilians – strictly speaking. Watch for an especially tense conversation that seems to strike a nerve in Mando’s usually calm demeanor.

Another Nod to Tea’s Place in The Galaxy

We would be remiss if we did not call attention to every time tea was mentioned or featured in The Mandalorian – and we were thrilled when this episode offered yet another!

Listen for – in our humble opinion – one of the best-delivered lines of the series following one of the many climaxes of the episode. As much as we loved IG-11’s “would anyone like some tea?” in season one, we think this is our new favorite.

Though these adventures take place “A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away….” it is exciting to know that the creators believe as we do that enjoying tea is universal – pan-galactic, even. While we bask in the excitement we are still feeling from this episode, we will steep another cup of our own and wait to see what happens next.
