Red, White and Blue Tea Recipes for the 4th of July

America will celebrate her 243rd birthday next week, commemorating the date that the Declaration of Independence was signed by our nation’s founding fathers. Today, the 4th of July is an occasion marked by fireworks, parades, flag-waving and backyard barbeques.

But what July 4th celebration would be complete without a colorful display of red, white and blue beverages?

Below, we have compiled a few of our favorite patriotic tea recipes for the 4th of July. These hibiscus coolers, blueberry sparklers, white tea sangrias and other beverages will help get every partygoer into the festive spirit at your July 4th gathering.

1. Star-Spangled Hibiscus Watermelon Cooler

Frozen star-shaped slices of watermelon deliver a festive flair to this bright and exotic ruby-hued infusion.


Frozen Watermelon Instructions

  • Use cookie cutters to slice fresh watermelon into star shapes
  • Place sliced watermelon on wax paper-lined baking sheets and set in freezer until frozen through

Tea Cooler Instructions

  • Steep 4 tea bags in 2 cups boiling water for 5 minutes
  • Remove tea bags and allow to cool
  • Stir in agave nectar and frozen watermelon
  • Pour into chilled glasses and serve

Simple Blueberry Syrup Ingredients

  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 1 cup water
  • ½ cup sugar

Tea Sparkler Ingredients

  • 4 Wild Blueberry Black Tea bags
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • Ice cubes
  • Simple blueberry syrup
  • Club soda or sparkling water
  • Fresh blueberries for garnish

Simple Blueberry Syrup Instructions

  • Combine blueberries, water and sugar in a saucepan over low heat until sugar is dissolved
  • Increase heat to medium-high and bring mixture to a boil
  • Boil for 15-20 minutes, stirring frequently, until syrup is thickened
  • Place mesh strainer over a large bowl, and pour the syrup into the strainer
  • Use a spoon or spatula to gently press the mixture against the strainer, extracting all of the liquid
  • Discard the solids

Tea Sparkler Instructions

  • Steep 4 blueberry black tea bags in 2 cups boiling water for 1-3 minutes
  • Remove tea bags and allow tea to cool
  • Add tea to cocktail shaker with ice cubes and desired amount of simple blueberry syrup; shake well
  • Pour into ice-filled glasses until ¾ full; top off with club soda or sparkling water
  • Garnish with fresh blueberries

3. Blueberry Lavender Slush

This frosty, violet-hued slush blends sweet, ripe blueberries with blue butterfly pea flower and a bouquet of other botanicals.



  • Steep 10 tea bags in 5 cups boiling water for 5 minutes
  • Remove tea bags, then add sugar and boil mixture for 30 seconds
  • Allow to chill in freezer or refrigerator
  • Add tea mixture, frozen blueberries and ice cubes to blender and blend until smooth
  • Garnish with fresh blueberries and serve immediately

4. White Tea Sangria

  • 2 cups of water (just short of boiling)

5. Peach White Tea Punch

This satisfying punch combines the sweet lushness of fresh peach with the tingle of spicy ginger and delicate white tea.



  • Steep 4 Ginger Peach White Tea bags and mint leaves in 2 cups of water (just short of boiling) for 1-3 minutes
  • Remove tea bags and mint leaves, and allow tea to cool
  • Stir in agave nectar, peach nectar and ginger ale
  • Pour into ice-filled glasses and serve
  • (Optional) Garnish with fresh peach slices

Note: You can replicate this white tea punch using any premium white tea, including Orange Blossom, Pineapple Guava or Honey Mango. Swap out the peach slices for your favorite light-colored fruits, such as mango or pineapple.
